Dust off your top hats and velvet waist-coats, deck yourself out in splendorous festival garb, open your arms for hugs on the street and rock on over to Mullum for a brilliant 2018 line up.

A message from Glenn Wright, the Festival Director:
The Mullum Music Festival is all about good music, and for our ninth festival we present possibly our most adventurous program thus far.
From Boise, Idaho, superb singer/songwriter Eilen Jewell returns to Australia for two very special performances. Billie Holliday, Peggy Lee, Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones, Gillian Welch, Hank Williams, Jolie Holland – just some of the comparisons Eilen Jewell has received. Check out her band and decide for yourself.
From Vancouver blues and roots sensations The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer makes the journey down under, as does fellow Canadian blues artist Matt Andersen. An artist not to miss is 20 year old Memphis born Julien Baker, who’s debut album “Sprained Ankle” was deservedly voted in the top 5 albums of 2015 by New York Times music reviewer Jon Caramanica.
The phenomenal Nattali Rize (AUS/JAM) will perform with her new 5 piece powerhouse Jamaican/ Australian band, along with leg- endary Aussie funk band Skunkhour. Back in the 90’s Skunkhour swam against the grunge tide. They were pioneers of a new genre, leading the way for others to follow.
Yirrmal, the standout hit of Bello Winter Music in 2016, will perform Mullum for the first time along with Gareth Liddiard from the Drones, Olympia, Lior, Tash Sultana and Henry Wagons. Festival favourites returning include Jordie Lane, Fourplay String Quartet, Hat Fitz and Cara, and VulgarGrad.
I am proud to announce that Suzannah Espie is our 2016 festival patron. Suzannah has played Mullum many times and is always a crowd favourite.
In 2016 we will be transitioning towards a festival free from disposable plastic water bottles and cups. We are asking all festival-goers, crew and artists to bring re-usable water or drink bottles to the festival. Water refills will be of- fered at all festival venues and a filtered water station will be in place outside Santos Organics. Re – usable drink bottles and cups will also be available for purchase at the Renew Fest stall all festival.
